Role Summary/Purpose:
Within the framework of Bashneft / Ufa project applied to an installation of water treatment in the company, the Site Process Engineer is in charge of all operations described below. The process engineer will report to the Site Manager.
Scope & responsibilities:
The routine activities will consist but not be limited to the following main points:
- Monitor and evaluate daily and weekly the laboratory results and the online process data (pressure, flows, online instruments);
- Create reports gathering the site data. Update reports based on Client’s feedback;
- Train the Suez and the Client operators onsite on process technical skills;
- Monitor the calibration online analyzers with the assistance of the operators;
- Evaluation of system performance and propose improvements ensuring contractual performance;
- Chemical calculation updates to optimize performance and minimize opex, finding the right equilibrium of opex and process risk;
- Evaluate quality of chemicals onsite;
- Lead site process troubleshooting;
- Plant walk-arounds with Client and Suez;
- Participate in meetings with customer onsite and remotely;
- Create mass balance updates, compare P&IDs with real construction;
- Create technical documents with contractual level wording according to Russian standards;
- Update and create process related technical procedures for site activities;
- Coordinate and supervise the sample taking onsite.
Qualifications / Requirements
The site Process Engineer should be a technical expert in terms of design, monitoring and troubleshooting in waste water treatment technologies as per the description below. The technologies are shown in order of importance starting from the most important:
1) Conventional biological treatment (nitrification, denitrification, knowledge of micro-organism involved, COD/BOD removal, oil removal, solids removal, activated carbon, mass balance, chemical dosing calculations, P&ID interpretation) process expertise technical knowledge mandatory. Preferred market is large municipal waste water treatment plant or industrial plants (ie. Refineries);
2) Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) highly valued;
3) Reverse Osmosis and ion exchange general knowledge will be valued;
4) Basic laboratory methodology skills (international and Russian standards).
Besides the technical skills, the Process Engineer will need to be able to:
- Communicate clearly and convincingly technical concepts internally to Suez and to the Client in face to face meetings and remote meetings;
- Create team work with the rest of service operators and managers onsite from Suez and the Client at the same time that maintains a high degree of independency in the job tasks;
- Be able to focus on details, reporting, analytical data;
- Customer oriented mentality;
- Results oriented mentality;
- Willing to function on site in an industrial environment;
- Field and service mentality, ensuring safe and complaint functioning in accordance with local regulations and company policies.
Experience: 5 – 10 years as process engineer in waste water treatment technologies
Education level: 5 year Master university degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or Civil Engineering
Language: Russian & English written/verbal professional level mandatory
Software skills:
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Power Point) professional level mandatory
- BioWin, GPSX or equivalent
- RO or IX commercial software
