Production of Feed for agricultural animals
Plant Manager is responsibilities to oversee all the plant operations, meeting company’s standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance. The plant manager will build the culture and structure to support people management, process control & improvement, and continuous improvement, in close co-operation with central functional areas such as safety (EHS), quality (FSQR), formulation, engineering, logistics, planning and inventory control.
Major Tasks
Production safety; create a culture for safety at the site, including:
- Accountable for the execution of internal programs and for meeting all relevant internal and regulatory standards in the area of EHS and Food/Feed Safety, in alignment with EHS and FSQR functions for the business.
- Champion a culture of zero injury and illness, educate and train the workforce, participate in safety inspections and audits
- Oversee and promote maintenance and reliability programs that ensure process safety, and develop and execute investments to meet internal and regulatory requirements in the area of equipment and process safety.
- Accountable for property management and preservation. Accountable for relationships with local community and local regulatory agencies.
- Oversee EHS/FSQR incident data to identify root causes and to define corrective action plans.
- Timely reports leading and lagging indicators, and takes actions to meet targets.
People Management: build effective leadership team for the site:
- Develop/supervise and provide coaching to plant supervisors including coaching Cargill’s core values and guiding principles.
- Oversee general workforce administration policies and programs in the areas of communications, staffing, training, evaluations, disciplinary actions and safety. Develop planning for future production workforce needs and participates in selection of employees.
- Accountable for successful training and on boarding of new/transferred employees as well as workforce engagement, recognition, development and coaching.
- Lead and implement systems and processes to maintain a highly engaged workforce.
Production quality: Build a team that use process improvement and continuous improvements tools in the daily work:
- Set and deploy operational priorities for the plant. Lead the local team in the necessary programs to ensure customer and product/quality standards requirements are met.
- Collaborate/partner with Logistics/Procurement/Sales/Supply Chain to ensure timely delivery of finished products and ability to meet customer specifications and timelines. Support the local supervisors in the identification of causes of customer complaints and give appropriate follow up to sales departments and to customers.
- Develop and oversee implementation of performance metrics for capturing, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of quality management activities and programs at the plant level.
- Champion and leverage technology innovation by developing strategic operational plans and by coordinating execution. Partner with BU leadership and with Technology/Engineering departments to identify emerging trends and translate into long-medium term operational goals.
Production efficiency: Leading the development of the plant on medium and long-term productivity goals in line with the BU strategic plans.
- Responsible for overseeing the overall operational management of the plant. Implement operational efficiency improvements, which may include, but are not limited to, standardization of plant information manufacturing systems, quality control, safety, production reliability excellence and maintenance, operator’s best practices, etc.
- Responsible for aligning overall team resources to execute against medium-long term strategies and for meeting medium-term outlook strategic operations goals in accordance with BU/plant objectives.
- Enforce a culture that builds, operates and maintains a plant that is safe and efficient. Champion and leverage leading operational practices and aggressively raise the performance by monitoring key performance indicators (i.e. yield optimization, energy/water usage reductions, operator safety indexes, etc.)
- Lead Maintenance & Reliability Excellence processes across the plant and ensure the reliability culture is foundational to operations.
Production financial performance:
- Lead, direct and control capital and operating budgets for the plant to achieve medium-term outlook financial performance objectives set by the business.
- Ensure and hold direct reports accountable for meeting and controlling operating expenses and established targets.
- Manage plant’s budgets/metrics, forecast costs.
- Accountable for setting and managing capital investments projects. Ensure capital projects objectives and scope are consistent with business strategy and technology strategy.
- Implement, execute and deploy all capital investments projects in accordance to pre-approved budgets.
Qualifications
- University degree - Master in Engineering or Master of Technology
- 7 years’ experience in operations, preferably in the food/feed industry
- minimum 3 years in position of plant manager\ production manager / supervisor leading a team up to 100 people
- knowledge and experience in planning and budgeting
- knowledge and experience in maintenance planning
- Russian Mother tongue, English (written and verbal) is a must

- Able to achieve exceptional results by taking ownership and keeping promises
- Foster trust and teamwork through self-awareness, integrity and humility
- Knowledge of Russian regulations on EHS matters
