Overview:
The IT Coordinator is responsible for the IT curriculum implementation and supports the
faculty with integrating technology in the classroom. The Coordinator is responsible for user support strategy and the use of digital hardware, software and network systems. As chair of the Information Technology Committee, the role coordinates and implements technology-related suggestions and is responsible for developing IT-related proposals and programs.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution, knowledge of relevant
technology, relevant experience in leadership, knowledge of education-related Information Technology (IT) hardware, software and systems and their implementation in schools, school administration and classrooms

Responsibilities:
- Oversees the IT Tracker, strategy and the use of digital hardware, software and network systems;
- Coordinates and implements technology-related suggestions and is responsible fordeveloping IT-related proposals and educational programs and apps;
- Collaborates with teachers in composing effective technology-infused, content-based lessons, and supports the teachers as they implement the lessons in their classrooms;
- Promotes model instructional practices and the role of technology in them;
- Articulates appropriate instructional technology practices as described in technology standards for students and teachers;
- Provides assistance and training to building instructional staff in the integration of technology to support student achievement. This includes planning and implementing job-embedded professional development and workshops for individuals, small groups, and large groups;
- Collaborates in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of instructional technology materials and software;
- Works with curriculum staff to develop and implement technology enhanced curriculum integration projects;
- Conducts research about advancements in technology tools and resources to inform decision-making;
- Gathers and disseminates information (e.g., grants, policies, professional development opportunities) relevant to instructional technology;
- Participates in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintaining expertise in the field;
- Works closely with classroom teachers in the development of lesson plans that encompass the use of technology;
- Coordinates all activities surrounding the professional technological development of administrative staff members and faculty;
- Provides direct support to teachers through classroom visitation, observation, coaching, and mentoring;
- Serves as a central liaison between faculty, administrative staff, and the organization’s technology team;
- Facilitates effective use of learning time by providing professional development related to maximizing increased instructional technology time focused on student academic needs and increasing achievement;
- Reviews materials/programs/services and implement strategies pertaining to the use of technology in the teaching/learning environment;
- Uses effective positive interpersonal communication skills;
- Creates learning resources for teacher, staff, and students. These may include Websites, tutorials, interactive programs, and databases that support teachers in integrating technology;
