CLIENT
DataArt’s client is an international company that works in the Finance domain. They operate on exchange-traded markets across all major financial and energy sectors. Their brokers help their clients to support price discovery, liquidity, and further execution and risk management.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The client is now building a new recommendation system for brokers to support their decision-making.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We're looking for a Senior Business Analyst with trading experience to join the dynamic Agile team that delivers an innovative product with modern technologies using Reactive programming, Hexagonal Architecture, and much more.
Responsibilities
- Documenting Enterprise Message Bus “Rules of Engagement” (RoE): - Lead the selection of enterprise modelling tooling to support this initiative and beyond; - Create sequence diagrams and other (UML) artifacts to document the supported flow types and state transitions; - Provide business glossary which articulates the semantic meaning of attributes in the messaging model and links them to the relevant enterprise data domain models.
- Utilising the RoE documentation, create Enterprise Message Bus conformance test packs, which will verify the alignment of bus integration projects with the relevant message specification and standards.
- Building on existing BPM & trade flow documentation, create a complete library of pre & post-trade flows for all client desks and e-Trading businesses. Flows to include a definition of client legal entities and trading desk identifiers, asset classes traded, trading protocols (e.g, RFQ or CLOB) and IT systems used in the order and trade capture processes.
- Link each of the process flows to the relevant golden sources of data and drive the mapping of the above artifacts into an ontology.
- Create a TOM that ensures the resultant order & trade flow documentation set is kept up to date by integrating it into the client’s business change processes.
- Ensure that you understand the risks and controls in your department; what could go wrong, and what controls you have to prevent/detect or contain these.
- Ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role, or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.
- Report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as described in the policy.
- Escalate risk events immediately and log them within 24 hours using the risk event capture form on the intranet.
- Provide input if requested to the Risk and Control Self-Assessment process, scenario analysis, ‘Deep Dive’ reviews, and any other risk management processes, as required.
Requirements
- Proven multi-year hands-on project experience documenting order & trade flows in OTC and/or capital markets domains
- 10+ years experience as a Business Analyst or similar role working in Financial Services (Investment Bank, IDB, Hedge Fund or industry consultancy / vendor)
- 5 years + experience using UML and/or similar modelling languages
- Track record of leading small teams in similar engagements – ideally in a consultancy or fast-moving FS environment
- Prior experience building test plans and scripts in a trading related business domain
- Hands on experience using modelling tools, such as Erwin, Signavio etc.
- Broad multi asset class/product knowledge, aligned with the client business domains, i.e. Credit, Fixed Income, Equities, Money Markets, Energy & Commodities
- Deep understanding of the front-to-back trade lifecycle, including order capture and matching protocols (RFQ, CLOB etc.) and key post trade processes, e.g. trade affirmation, clearing etc.
- Detailed knowledge of UML and other modelling languages and notations and associated tooling based on practical experience and market knowledge
- Demonstrable deep practical knowledge of financial services messaging protocols e.g. FIX, FpML, etc.
- Good understanding of taxonomies and ontologies and their use within a data driven organisation
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management at all levels
- Ability to lead and coach small teams with an inclusive and constructive management style
- Ability to use own initiative, with strong personal organisation skills to work to tight deadlines
- Results oriented with personal accountability for success
