Position Summary: The Information Security Specialist will work closely with the head of the department to ensure the security and integrity of our information systems. The ideal candidate will have a fluent command of the English language, with knowledge of the Chinese language being a notable advantage. Familiarity with local regulatory requirements is essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Security Systems and Tools
- Implement, administer, and maintain security tools and solutions to protect the organization's data, systems, and networks.
- Monitor security access and continuously assess for vulnerabilities or areas of improvement.
- Establish protocols for the use of IT across the company, including setting password requirements and managing firewalls.

Incident Response
- Detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents and breaches in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with IT and other relevant teams for containment, eradication, and recovery from incidents.
- Document incidents, outcomes, and lessons learned.

Policy Development and Implementation
- Collaborate with the head of the department in developing and updating the organization's information security policies and procedures.
- Ensure all policies comply with local regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with the established policies and procedures.

Risk Assessment and Management
- Continuously assess and report on potential security risks.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct security assessments for third-party vendors and partners.

Training and Awareness
- Design and facilitate security awareness training for employees.
- Provide guidance on security best practices to staff and management.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, threats, and opportunities.

Regulatory Compliance
- Understand, monitor, and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements regarding information security.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure security measures adhere to necessary regulations.

Communication
- Assist the head of the department in all matters, providing regular updates and insights.
- Collaborate with other departments, ensuring their security needs are met and understood.
- Translate complex security-related concepts into clear and actionable advice for non-technical stakeholders.

Language Proficiency
- Fluent in English to effectively communicate, document, and understand all work-related materials and discussions.
- Use knowledge of the Chinese language, if applicable, to assist in communications, understand materials, and liaise with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.

Miscellaneous Tasks
- Perform regular backups of company data, ensuring its safety and accessibility.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to improve the efficiency and reliability of the security system.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest security certifications and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant security certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ will be considered as a plus.
- Familiarity with local regulatory requirements concerning information security.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Chinese is a plus.
The Information Security Specialist will report directly to the head of the department and will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization's data and infrastructure.
